CEREC Same Day Crowns
CEREC crowns, also known as same-day crowns, are a revolutionary dental technology that allows for the creation and placement of custom crowns in a single dental visit. CEREC stands for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, and it represents a significant advancement in restorative dentistry.

Traditionally, the process of getting a dental crown involved multiple appointments and the use of temporary crowns. With CEREC technology, the entire process can be completed in just one visit. Using specialised computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology, CEREC enables dentists to design, create, and place high-quality ceramic crowns on-site, eliminating the need for off-site fabrication and temporary restorations.

The CEREC crown procedure begins with the dentist preparing the affected tooth by removing any decay or damaged portions. Instead of using traditional impression materials, a digital scan of the tooth is taken using a 3D camera. The scanned data is then sent to a computer, where the dentist uses software to design the crown, taking into account the patient's bite and aesthetic preferences.

Once the design is finalized, the CEREC machine mills the crown from a solid block of ceramic material, precisely matching the shape and color of the natural tooth.
