Dr. Derek Lombard BDS(UGlas) MFDS RCPS(Glasg) BA(Hons) APsych CH(NGH)
Dr. Lombard is a highly experienced dentist with a special interest in aesthetic and
implant dentistry, as well as facial aesthetics. He is delighted to offer anti-wrinkle
injections here in Monread Dental to achieve natural and refreshed results for his clients.
He has a holistic minimally invasive approach to dentistry, favouring aligning, bleaching
and composite bonding to achieve results gently; and has treated well-known national
television and radio celebrities with this approach. His training and experience in CEREC
allows him to provide patients with same-day crowns for increased ease and comfort. He
has practiced mercury-free dentistry for the last 10 years. A large focus of his work is to
help people overcome their fear of dentistry. Derek has a degree in Applied Psychology
and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist. He enjoys helping patients with dental anxiety
and phobia, as well as those with a severe gag reflex, by using breathwork and
relaxation techniques.
He graduated from the University of Glasgow Dental Hospital with Commendation in
2007 and was honored to receive the James Rankin Brownlie Prize upon graduation,
awarded to “the best student in the Dental Surgery class.” Subsequently he gained the
postgraduate diploma of Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons
Glasgow.
Dr. Lombard has been placing and restoring implants for over 10 years and has
undergone extensive training in advanced implant dentistry in Ireland, the UK, Australia,
Portugal and Italy; including a postgraduate one year Nobel Biocare Implant Course in
London.
He completed his training in Advanced Aesthetic and Restorative Dentistry in Harley
Street, London and has trained in cosmetic Six Month Braces in California, advanced
short-term orthodontics in London and is a provider of Invisalign Go, Spark and
SureSmile clear aligners (invisible braces).
